About Hubert United
Responsible growth. Transparent government. Better infrastructure. Stronger neighbors.
Hubert United is a nonpartisan community organization serving Hubert, North Carolina. We gather records, explain public decisions, track development and infrastructure, and help residents participate constructively in decisions that affect their homes, roads, schools, safety, and quality of life.
Hubert is a community before it is a boundary
Hubert’s identity has always been built neighbor by neighbor. It includes longtime residents and newcomers, property owners and renters, military families and civilian families, local businesses, churches, volunteers, and everyone who calls ZIP code 28539 home. Hubert United does not claim to speak for every resident. We work to make sure residents have reliable information and meaningful ways to speak for themselves.
Nonpartisan
Our work is not controlled by a party, candidate, developer, or government agency. Sound evidence and fair process matter more than political labels.
Evidence-based
We distinguish documented facts from open questions. We correct errors, publish official responses fairly, and do not treat silence as proof of misconduct.
Infrastructure first
We support responsible growth and property rights while insisting that roads, drainage, utilities, schools, and public services keep pace.
What we do
- Request, organize, and publish public records.
- Track rezoning proposals, transportation projects, utility planning, drainage, and public-service capacity.
- Translate technical material into plain language without stripping away important context.
- Encourage residents to read agendas, attend meetings, submit informed comments, and ask specific questions.
- Support cleanups, volunteer events, charity drives, fundraisers, and neighbors helping neighbors.
What we are not
Hubert United is not anti-growth, anti-business, anti-property-rights, or organized to defeat one particular project. We are also not an official government body. Our purpose is to improve the connection between public evidence, community participation, responsible development, and long-term infrastructure planning.
Our standard
Where records establish a fact, we state it. Where records raise a question, we label it as a question. Where the evidence is incomplete, we say so. Officials, agencies, applicants, and affected parties are welcome to provide records, explanations, or corrections.
Ownership, status, and funding
Hubert United is an independently operated community-information project led by Daniel Cornell. It is not a government agency, political party, campaign, incorporated nonprofit, or LLC. It is not presently funded by government, candidates, political parties, developers, or paid advertising.
Our sourcing, corrections, disclosures, right-of-response, privacy, and candidate-coverage rules are published in full.
